MEET OUR U11 GOLDS SQUAD.

Leicestershire Foxes Sunday League

Formed in April 2021 and now well established at U11 level, the Loughborough Lions U11 Golds are a committed and progressive team competing in the Leicestershire Foxes Sunday League. The squad is built around strong core values of development, teamwork, enjoyment, and a genuine passion for football, with a clear focus on helping every player reach their potential in a positive and fun environment.

The team is managed by Andy Fairbrother, who has coached the group since its formation at U7s and proudly has his son, Reuben, within the squad. Andy is supported by assistant coach Chris Ball, whose son Ralph joined the team during the U8 season in 2022. Chris joined the coaching setup in 2024, further strengthening the team’s leadership and continuity. The club officially joined Loughborough Lions in 2024, marking an exciting new chapter in the team’s journey.

Since their formation, the U11 Golds have demonstrated excellent commitment and steady progression. Currently competing in the 5/4 Grey Group, the team’s greatest achievement to date came in 2025 when they were crowned Europa Cup winners in the Lions Cup, an outstanding accomplishment that reflects in their resilience, determination, and teamwork. The squad consists of 12 players, with three having been part of the team since its inception and half the group together for over two years, highlighting the strong bonds and stability within the team.

The team is proudly supported by Loughborough Plumbing & Heating Ltd, whose sponsorship is greatly appreciated and helps provide valuable support for the players and coaching staff.

Training takes place every Wednesday from 6:00pm to 7:00pm, with sessions led by qualified coaches to ensure a safe, structured, and enjoyable environment focused on continuous development. At present, the U11 Golds are not recruiting players, as they have a settled and dedicated squad in place, but keep an eye out on the Lions Facebook page as the club has 4 teams at this age group.
